This page explains how to delete your account in the SokoSauti for Businesses app on Google Play and on sokosauti.com, and which data is deleted or kept. SokoSauti is a product of Sauti Lab Creations Inc.

    Steps at a glance

    1. Sign in
    2. Account settings
    3. Delete my account
    4. Type DELETE
    5. Permanently delete

    Can't sign in? Email support@sokosauti.com.

    How to delete your account

    Option A

In the app or on the web

    1. Sign in at sokosauti.com or in the SokoSauti app. The Sign in to delete your account button above opens Account settings for you after you sign in, so you can go straight to step 3.
    2. Open Account settings:
      • On a computer, or a tablet at least 1024 px wide: click your account card at the bottom of the left sidebar (it shows your business name), then Account settings.
      • On a phone, or any screen narrower than 1024 px (this includes the Android app on a phone): tap the menu button (three lines) at the top left, then your account card at the bottom of the menu, then Account settings.
    3. Scroll to the red Delete account section at the bottom of the page and tap Delete my account.
    4. Type DELETE in the box and tap Permanently delete. Your account is deleted straight away: you see "Account deleted" and are signed out.
If you see "Could not delete account", the message under it says why. If you have an open creator booking, cancel it, or finish it and release its payment, in Digital Creators > Bookings, then try again. If it says we could not cancel your card subscription, your account was not deleted: try again in a few minutes. If we cancelled your subscription but could not finish deleting your account, the message says so, and the subscription stays cancelled: choose a plan again under Subscription & billing, or email support@sokosauti.com. For any other message, try again in a few minutes, and if it keeps failing, email us as in option B.

    Option B

    If you can't sign in

    1. Try to get back in first: on the sign-in page tap Forgot password? (it accepts your email or business username), or use Continue with Google or Continue with Apple if you signed up that way.
    2. Or email support@sokosauti.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my SokoSauti account". Include your business name and your brand username if you have one. If you signed up with a phone number, include that phone number.
    3. Before we delete anything we confirm it is you. We check that the email comes from the address on your account. If you no longer use that address, or you signed up with a phone number, we ask for two details only the account owner would know, such as your brand username or the Paystack reference on one of your receipts. We never delete an account on a phone number alone.
    4. We respond within 30 days, as our Privacy Policy commits, and delete your account and the data described below.
    Email support@sokosauti.com

    What we delete

When you tap Permanently delete and see "Account deleted", we delete straight away:

    • Sign-in details

Your email address, password, Google or Apple sign-in link, active sessions and brand username. For an account created with a phone number: the phone number and its sign-in codes.

    • Business profile

Business name, category, phone number, location, description, logo link, brand voice and onboarding progress.

    • Customers

Your customer contacts with their consent and opt-out records, customer churn scores and monthly churn forecasts, imported M-Pesa transactions, M-Pesa settings and referral codes.

    • Campaigns

SMS, email and WhatsApp campaigns and flows, the delivery log for each recipient, the campaign audit log, messages waiting to be retried, records of outreach emails, daily email counts, and your SMS sender ID requests with the documents you uploaded for them.

    • Inbox

Email and creator conversations, their messages and attached files.

    • Soko AI

Conversations, messages, uploaded files and actions waiting for your confirmation.

    • Marketing and ads

Marketing plans, AI-generated content, Creative Ads (posters and their images, ad campaigns, variants, A/B tests and ad results), saved ad templates, your connections to ad and social accounts, tracking pixels and audiences.

    • Leads and analytics

Leads, landing pages, automations, sync schedules, analytics events, the copies of your records in our analytics database, and the record of your customers' data requests.

    • Billing

Your subscription, plan, AI and SMS credit balances and the card authorization we saved. Before your account is deleted, we ask Paystack to cancel any active card subscription. If Paystack cannot confirm the cancellation, your account is not deleted and you can try again. If the cancellation goes through but your account still cannot be deleted, your subscription stays cancelled: choose a plan again under Subscription & billing, or email support@sokosauti.com.

    • Team

Your team list, including invitations not yet accepted, and your place in any other business's team. People who joined your team keep their own SokoSauti accounts.

    • Emails to you

Our log of the emails we sent to your address.

    • Demo requests and waitlist

Demo requests and waitlist sign-ups made with your email address, with the name, phone number, business name and message you gave.

Stored files (Soko AI uploads, inbox attachments, poster images and sender ID documents) are removed from storage by a cleanup job that runs every 15 minutes.

What we keep, and for how long

    Kept for a period

    • Payment records7 years

The Paystack reference, amount, currency, what you paid for and the date, and a trimmed copy of each Paystack payment notification: we remove the card authorization, your email address, name, phone number and IP address from it. These records keep an internal account number, which matches no account once yours is deleted. A Paystack notification that arrives after your account is deleted is stored as received, because it arrives after deletion and is not trimmed yet; we use it only to process that payment. Financial regulations require us to keep them.

    • Creator bookings7 years

If you booked a creator: each booking (brief, dates, deliverables and price), the content the creator delivered, with any brand username the creator tagged on it, and your review (rating and text). The booking, the content and the review are no longer linked to your account. Your review stays on the creator's profile without your name. The booking payment is kept under Payment records. Creators also keep their own copy of a booking: the creators app may keep what it already received for a booking, such as the business name, campaign title, amount and payment status. That copy is the creator's own record.

    • Security logs2 years

Records of security-checked actions, such as test SMS sends (with the last 4 digits of the test number) and consent checks. They are no longer linked to your account.

    • Sign-in attempts7 days

Attempts to sign in or reset a password with a brand username: the username, a hashed IP address and whether it worked, used to stop password guessing. A daily job deletes them once they are 7 days old.

    • Nightly backup copyUp to 1 day

Our nightly backup copy of your business profile (business name, category, phone number and location) and your plan. The next nightly backup run removes it. The same backup also holds copies of payment records, without your account number, kept as described under Payment records.

    • Hosting backupsUp to 30 days

Our database host's automatic backups can still hold copies of your data, including the data listed above, until they expire: up to 30 days after you delete your account.

    • Opt-out listsNo set end date

If we have ever sent you a campaign email, the unsubscribe record for your address stays, so the unsubscribe link in those emails keeps working. If you unsubscribed, our emails to you bounced, or you marked one as spam, your address also stays on our do-not-email list, so we never email you again. The same lists hold the email addresses your campaigns were sent to, with no names.

We also keep records of AI use (which AI feature ran, its token count and cost) for our cost accounting, with no link to you or your account.

    Kept by others

    • Paystack keeps your billing details as a separate data controller, under its own privacy notice.
    • Our email, SMS and AI providers (Resend, OpenSMS and AI model providers) may keep copies of what they processed under their own terms. OpenSMS also keeps any SMS sender ID registration you submitted.
    • Google (Gmail) keeps the copies in our company mailbox of the announcements we send from it, and a copy of each demo request is also emailed to support@sokosauti.com and stays there.

    Creators and messages you sent

    • Messages already delivered (SMS, emails, WhatsApp messages and chats) stay with the people who received them.
    • Creators keep what they saved in the creators app, such as their chats with you and posts with your campaign content.
    • A creator profile you claimed in the creators directory stays there, without a link to you.
    • If you signed in to creators.sokosauti.com with your brand username, you have a separate linked account there with your business name, logo and chats. Deleting your SokoSauti account does not delete it, and afterwards you can no longer sign in to it. Delete it first: on creators.sokosauti.com open Settings and choose Delete account.
